Today, we celebrate the political diversity in Malaysia, as BN suffered from its fall from grace.
I am, like the majority of the people in Malaysia, a victim of the skyrocketing prices of everything from petrol to flour to my favourite ice cream, Ben & Jerry's. (It was RM26 before, and now it's RM31.80 at Cold Storage)! Oh, oh, oh... and my favourite snack, Arnotts' Shapes used to sell for RM5.29 and now is more than 7 effing ringgit. And they say we should voted for the Opposition, because the current government is to be blamed for all this.
Well, I didn't vote, because I didn't register. But if I had, I would've voted for BN. Still. Why?
Well firstly, it's because I don't bite the hands that feed me. 5 years of scholarship in the States from a BN-led government meant a lot to me. And they didn't even force me to serve the country. I'm indebted, for life.
Number two is that, I'm a sucker for history and political legacy. Umno fought for the Malays, and I am a Malay. That's it. I feel the need to cling to something that preaches the unifying factor of being a Malay and the meaning of Malayness. And no, I am not a racist for saying this.
Number three is because I am a Johorean. This ties back to number two, but I feel that having lived and grow up in this state I feel blessed. I think the state is politically sophisticated and we have a balanced view of religion and secularism. Iyer, Aiz cakap orang Johor memang kerek. Where else can a politician whose sex video became public can walk around without having to fear of being judged by his vice? We embraced him for his strengths, and not his weakness (not literally, though. Did you guys see the video??? Dang!!).
But I must say that I'm truly dissapointed at how BN handled the whole campaigning process - putting iffy candidates in Selangor and KL (what were you thinking Sleepy???), complacency and sheer overconfidence (someone told me Budak Jawa was not even campaigning at Shah Alam), and just the lack of an ass-whooper in the party is truly sad.
Lepas tu, bila BN dah kalah in certain states, ada orang tu cakap, "Dah kalah, kalah la.. nak buat macam mana... (dengan loghat utara)"
Ouch.

Hehehe. Politics. POLY = MANY. TICKS = BLOOD-SUCKING PARASITES.
Now I want my toll and fuel lessen. When is the new state government going to start work? It's been 5 days already!!!
Kalau kita, 3 hari dah kena show-cause letter.
Eh, I don't work, do I?
i've been reading yer blog for a while, you should've voted.
i voted for BN sbb i am grateful for the education i had, the peace n stability we've enjoyed all these yrs and all. and i believe only UMNo yg can ensure the prosperity n survival of malays.
let's hope this election results is a wake-up call to those top guns and let's pray we will still maintain racial unity and coexist in peace.
haha 'many blood-sucking parasites'...kewl.
Those who didn't vote for BN were trying to give a wake-up call. If the message didn't get through, too bad lah.
Oppositions' agendas are unclear to us all.
How they're going to work together in the 4 states remains unknown.
I'm sure most Malaysians now feel trapped in between mountains of uncertainties.
The uncertainties have begun. Perak is still without a government despite my receiving an e-mail from Anwar thru an organisation called the Malay Cronies Of Brother Anwar, saying that they have come to an agreement on who should become the MB and how many state exco posts should DAP get.
They only wanted to deny parliamentary 2/3 majority and never expected to form any state government, with the exception of PAS; that is why they're caught with their pants down.
My take is they will (maybe) come to some kind of compromise but it would still be a weak coalition of dreamers.
However, BN, especially UMNO, should stop being in denial and accept the reasons for the huge losses and buck up.
jz, u hv my vote.
this org kedah kata " apa nama..depa kena pulun lebih lepas ni, kena keja betui betui " hahahaha
Meen, I totally agree with you. And now, another issue that makes me pissed off is, when you have a state which BN won like Johor, you'd keep the same MB. Not like some state in the east coast - seems that they have a plan to choose another person as MB; a person who did not even do any work!Just because he's a crony.
That's why I hate politics.
When you lost, it creates problem. When you menang also got problem. So, how lah?
SD Fuel price lessened, extended maternity leaves (can make babies every year, but now I need to find a hubby pulak), tolls scrapped, free education. Can't wait. You do work SD, you are the Demon of the Sea.
ms ngantuk, thanks for dropping by. dropped by yours tadi.
zara, SD is a cunning linguist.
dnas, maybe they should let us run the country. heheh
aye aye!
from a Johorean to another Johorean, straight up, people always thought we are 'kerek' just because we have all the qualities other states dont. there is this blogger trying to defend a certain east coast country by making his points in his comments... but come on now.. Johoreans know better.
well like what i said in my political post... the UMNO fellas better buck up... and get rid of a certain 'son in law' while they're at it, because he's a disgrace.
SD, a lot of people like to live in denial. Including me sometimes.
rainmaker, apa nama...apa namaaa... hehehe..saya suka dia cakap macam tu
spena, and we never faced this whos gonna be the next MB problem before, kan?
sarcy, all because of that one budak hingusan.... everything topsy turvy...
Ibu...you wanna make more babies or do you just wanna have fun trying to make babies? Either way, you have my number...ahakkksss!!!
I'm now somewhere over the rainbow. You can find me there too.
SD, ya I have your number, will call you when I need to change a lightbulb :P
Well, I'm somewhere over the moon. So there!
i hate politics....
i dun want to lose frens over politics....
politics itu jijik!!!!
So very true. I just wish that more of the young people in KL (especially) could read this and ponder at what they've done.
Yg dapat scholarship tu some of them don't feel any gratitude at all. I can still remember my senior kat university wearing a "green Nippon" songkok at his farewell party. Boleh tak? And he got the full JPA scholarship tau macam I.
Geram I kekadang but it's a free country lah kononnya kan (hello this is not the US lah).
aiz, saya pun hate politics. tapi macam teringin nak run for a post. what post? i oso dunno. postwoman kot. i think we should set up a new party la aiz. Party People. PP for short :P
za, a lot of emotional voting during this past election. BN should've reached out to those voters, who simply vote the opposition just for the hell of it. But that moron also put some really lousy candidates in klang valley.
jz, i like!!!!! i like......!!
