Inspired by Cosmic Gurl's entry on being a tad bit emo.
Merajuk. There is no English equivalent to that word. At least I could never find it, maybe there is after all. I always use upset, dismayed, fussed, maybe the closest is hurt. But hurt is too strong a word I think. Hurt is not merajuk. Merajuk is merajuk.
I once told someone, after a full argument in English, "I dah merajuk FOREVER dengan you." To which he replied, "I know."
For me the definition of merajuk is when you have a mix of hurt/upset/anger (plus a teeny weeny bit of mengada-ngada thrown in) and you expect to be comforted.
Any cunning linguists out there who can offer me an English definition?
p/s: I tak merajuk ok today, this topic just suddenly came to mind. Still basking in the afterglow :)
pp/s: I just had a waffle with vanilla ice cream at Suzi's Corner. And I'm so damn sleepy and will sleep on a full stomach. I will not wake up feeling good tomorrow.

Hey! Finally found your blog. Hehehe...
No matter how advance English languange is, u can't really translate all the malay words into Eng. I still dont know the eng equivalent of the word "merajuk" too :) But i know there's a lil bit of mengada"ness" in it
Mimin,
the word 'sulk' doesn't really explain 'merajuk' ke? Lain ke makna nya?
Kalau 'merajuk' ada unsur2 'mengada2', kena pulak cari equivalent English word for 'mengada2'.
it's sulkada my dear... hihihihi
sulking yg mengada2... huahahahah
I think dnas got it there, sulky is as close as I can think of for the equivalent of merajuk.
As for mengada2, I have no idea!
here's another word i can't define in english: Wangi. smell good doesn't do it justice
cosmic gurl, i like to mengada2 too. heheh
dnas, yup, i think the closest is sulk tapi when someone says sulk its usually macam "buat muka & merajuk" hehehehe
el piano, i slap your face one time.. sulkada!
ardy, sulky sulky. merajuk yang nak kena pujuk
idlan - fragrant? heheheh... but a tad bit too formal pulak.
