Had a wonderful bbq for my bro's 21st birthday on Saturday evening. Sunday morning, at 6.20 am I was already at KGPA for the Piala Sallehuddin tournament. Honestly, the most events I've ever been involved in while working here are golf tournaments. Oh, and AGMs. I like the former better. Hahah. No press conferences, no media kits to hand out. Pure unadulterated casual fun with males over the age of 50. More Hahah.
On a gloomier note, I really hope none of you ever have to lodge a police report on domestic violence. It sucks. Well it didnt suck that bad, the policeman who took my report was actually "mesra, cepat (not so cepatlah) dan betul". But the policeguy who attended to me earlier was so young and inexperienced his jaw literally dropped when i said, "Nak buat report, I kena pukul dengan suami". He turned to his colleagues who were munching on some really nice-looking goreng pisang (heheh.. kalau kat US donuts kan?) and said, "Kena pukul." And I was like, YEAH TELL THE WHOLE WORLD WHY DON'T YOU.
Then an elderly policeman attended to me and thank you Mr IGP Musa Hassan, the guy was gentlemanly, discreet and very helpful. Then why am I complaining? Because the whole ordeal is unpleasant. You verbalize what you've experienced to a complete stranger, it's so mengaibkan, it's humiliating and you feel so exposed and vulnerable. It's the act of unveiling your deepest and darkets secret to an unknown person. It was deathly scary for me. And oh, may I suggest some sort of cubicle Mr IGP so that there's a bit of privacy when lodging reports? Strangely, at the end of it there's a sense of fulfillment...
And tomorrow will be a better day, God willing.
note to self: must...get...BLOND...streaks...before... big...stf-sdar-star...dinner...next week...

i've been a silent reader in yr blog for quite sometime. sorry to hear abt it. and allow me to interrupt ye... recently i watched 'gedik santai' and saw an episode about kes dera/rogol. not many of us know, that there are about 150+ (or mebbe 50+ tak sure on the figure) one-stop-stations in malaysia for all mangsa dera / rogol. ada satu kat HKL and i think most gov hospitals ada. at this place, a victim can lodge report, get checked by medical officers / doctors and get consultations at the same time. so a victim tak perlu pegi police station to make report, pastu kena pi hospital buat check up and kena ulang2 citer to everybody. the centers ada privacy and comfy for victim. nanti Sya try carik wat exactly the center is called. tak ingat nama dia. hope this info helps.

Agreed, environment kat Police Station memang sangat tidak privacy. When we went to lodge report after the burglary, everybody there could hear our story. Just imagine if it was a rape case. Gulp! Tidak dapat ku imagine kan....

The One Stop Crisis Centre (OSCC) was developed to facilitate the management of survivors of violence. These include victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and sodomy. The services provided at the centres by relevant agencies including medical treatment, police investigation, social services, support group services and legal support. As such the services provided at OSCC are client focused. OSCC is an institutional response where “an integrated and coordinated teamwork of multi-sectoral and inter-agency network for management of violence against women and children” are provided.
Where can we get this services ?

It must be a terrifying ordeal for you. I can never understand men who beat up women, what was they really thinking, and how they felt after the act. It is something totally foreign to me, and I hope it will stay that way.
Of course it helps if you know kickboxing/karate/judo, you can always fight back then ;)

Dayus la lelaki tu bile pukul isteri. What kind of man is that?!! He thinks sorry would undo what he did to you?? He thinks he's so powerful that allows him to hit you!!?? You did the right thing! Can you report to the police that you are being stalked so that the police can be your house security?
